About the 2021-22 Season
Our in-person winter season farmers market is open December through March in the east wing of the University Mall in Carbondale. Customers can access the market via an exterior entrance on the east side of the building (near the movie theater) or through the mall.
The market will continue to look a little different from past years, as we will have fewer vendors to accommodate spacing between vendors & social distancing of customers. We will require everyone to wear a mask and if you forget yours, don't worry as we will have them available! We will have hand sanitizer spread throughout the market and we will be monitoring the flow of traffic and crowd control.  We will also have safety signage and guidance from the Illinois Farmers Market Association throughout the market. The market information table is located just inside the building entrance and we will have volunteers and staff throughout so that you can ask questions. The market information table is also where customers can get SNAP tokens & Link Match, as well as credit card tokens.

SNAP INFORMATION

SNAP eligible foods include: fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, poultry, dairy products, baked goods for human consumption, as well as plants or seeds used to grow food for human consumption, such as vegetable bedding plants and potted herbs.

SNAP ineligible items: Ornamental plants, cut flowers, vitamins, herbal extracts, pet foods, other non-food items like soaps, household goods and prepared foods (HOT or COLD) for immediate consumption such as coffee, sandwiches, wraps, hot apple cider.

We will again be offering LINK Match this market season! Shoppers can use their LINK cards to receive wooden tokens at the Market Information table. Customers will receive an additional $1 in Link Match coupons for every $1 they take out of their LINK, up to $25 each week to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables at the market.
