Help families eat better food. Donate to support double value incentive programs at the Community Farmers Market!
What are Double Value Coupons? The CCFM matches the value of SNAP (the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps) purchases made at participating sites with Double Value Coupons to spend on locally grown fruits and vegetables.
How does it work? Shoppers can use their LINK cards to receive wooden tokens at the Market Information table. Customers will receive an additional $1 in Double Value Coupons for every $1 they take out of their LINK up to $20. For example, when a shopper takes out $10 on their LINK card, they would receive an additional $10 in Double Value Coupons to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables at the market.
Who funds this program? The program is paid for through a combination of market sponsorships from businesses and organizations, small grants, and donations from community members. SIH Community Benefits, Jackson County Plan4Health, and LINK Up Illinois, have all helped sponsor double value incentives at the Community Farmers Market.
Where can I use my Double Value Coupons?
Double Value Coupons can be used at both the Carbondale Farmers Market, and the Winter Community Farmers Markets on Saturdays in Carbondale, IL.
What can I buy with my Double Value Coupons?
Double Value Coupons can only be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. SNAP tokens can be used to purchase any eligible food item such as bread, eggs, or meat at the market.
